Who doesn’t love a cheeky cocktail, especially during the summer when we can enjoy fun in the sun with friends at the beach or at a BBQ? A cocktail is even better when it only has a couple of ingredients and can be mixed easily and quickly. This recipe for a mimosa sangria encompasses both of these qualities.
A mimosa cocktail is a simple mix of champagne and chilled citrus juice (usually orange) and is often served in a tall champagne flute at festive occasions such as brunch, and weddings. In contrast, Sangria is an alcoholic punch, originating in Spain and Portugal, traditionally made from red wine and chopped fruit, often with other ingredients or spirits.
Mix the mimosa and the sangria and you get a bubbly, citrusy, boozy hit which is perfect for sipping in the sun. Here’s how you make it:
Ingredients
1 bottle of chilled champagne
1/4 cup vodka
1/4 cup triple sec
4 cups orange juice
1 orange sliced
1 cup ice cubes
Method:
Place the ice cubes into a large pitcher and add the orange slices.
Pour in the champagne, vodka & triple sec.
Top off with orange juice and stir.
Serve with orange slices.
Cheers!
