Make your own Goat Milk and Honey Soap Bars

I love to make my own beauty and body products. I have made quite a few different things over the years including bath bombs, soaps, and even moisturiser. As someone with sensitive skin, I find it reassuring that I know exactly what goes into the things I made and I can use my preferred ingredients.

You might think the idea of making your own soap is a terrifying prospect, and yes, there are complicated methods using dangerous chemicals, but if you are a beginner, the simplest way to start is to purchase a soap base! Soap base is a pre-mixed combination of soap, glycerin, and a few add-ins like plant butters and extracts for skin benefits, along with additives for transparency or fillers for making opaque bars.

You can make these Goat Milk and Honey Soap Bars really easily by using Goat’s milk soap base and powdered honey. The end result is a lovely layered soap bar with no artificial dyes or fragrances. Use yourself at home or give away as delightful handmade gifts! I promise it is quick and easy.

Supplies:
Makes 4 bars

1 lb Goat’s Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base
1 tbsp powdered honey
Microwave safe 4 cup measuring cup
4 inch soap mold
2 Wooden craft stick for stirring
Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol (optional)
Wavy soap cutter (optional)

Directions:
Cut the soap base into 1 inch cubes, and divide them between the measuring cups.
Heat in the microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring between each heat session, until fully melted.
Add the honey to one melted soap base and stir well.
Pour a small amount of plain soap base into the mold, not completely covering the bottom. Allow to set for 45 seconds, then pour some of the honey soap base, and allow to set for 45 seconds.
Continue alternating between the two, until you’ve used it all. NOTE: You may have to reheat the soap base in 10-second intervals if they start to become too thick.
Once you’ve used all of the soap base, spray with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles.
Allow soap to set for 4 hours.
Remove soap from the mold, and cut into 1-inch bars.
